Chelsea Hotel N°2

Lyrics Leonard Cohen
Chelsea Hotel N°2

I remember you well at the Chelsea Hotel,
you were talking so brave and so sweets,
Giving me head on the unmade bed,
while the limousines waited in the street.
Press Quotes

Brian Molko played this song for a guitar magazine during the Black Market Music era.

So, do you remember what was the first song you could play on the guitar?

Brian : euh... the first song, it was probably, euh... I learned Chelsea Hotel N°2 by Leonard Cohen so heu... a part of it...

Brian Molko, Guitar Part, November 2000

"I'm a huge Leonard Cohen fan and this was one of the first songs I learned to play on the acoustic guitar. I was fascinated by Janis Joplin at the time, and this was basically the story of him and her in a hotel room, having sex and doing drugs. His lyrics are masterful and so simple. Leonard Cohen remains on me an influence to this day - you just have to listen to "In The Cold light Of Morning" on our Meds album to hear his impact."

Brian Molko, Kerrang, 2006
