Press Quotes
"We've made a record about choosing life, and choosing to live, about stepping out of the darkness and into the light. Not necessarily turning your back on the darkness because it's there, it's essential; it's a part of who you are, but more about the choice of standing in the sunlight instead."

"I'm very optimistic about the future. I’m in a positive frame of mind and a good headspace. It's very exciting. There’s a lot of life in the old dog just yet."

Brian Molko, NME, 16th March 2009

"I believe 'Battle' to be the first of our albums to tell a story over the course of its 52 minutes. Our previous releases were really only collections of songs and even though the songs are ordered according to the musical flow, I hope that if you listen hard enough to the words that some kind of discernible thematic unity will begin to emerge."

Brian Molko, NME, 26th March 2009

(Translation, quote in French

"You were getting out of an album, "Meds," which was about addiction, drugs, medication, alcohol. Are you out of that?

Brian :
This album was very claustrophobic. We were watching our unease with a microscope. It had calmed down during the tour. But alcohol ... it's always complicated. Day after day... The important thing is to fight, the title of the album "Battle for the Sun" is really related to that. We’re improving but it’s not perfect. The dark side is a part of me even if I decide to flee it. Wanting to change is the beginning of the battle. Drummer Steve (Editor's note: Hewitt) didn't want to make this decision. So we stayed together with Stefan the bassist (and a new drummer, Steve Forrest) to make it fun and challenging again. And now, the real Placebo is back."

Brian Molko, Le parisien, 07th April 2009
